Warhawk Patch

Warhawk has once again been patched up with more free goodies. Simply load up the game and you will be asked to download the 66MB 1.50 patch. At the moment we can only confirm this for Europe, but a US patch should also be made available today, if it's not already. In case you've forgotten what version 1.50 adds to the game (you big sillies), let us refresh your memory.

A new training mode, to get people used to the game, custom soundtracks and trophies are the main new features, but there's plenty more besides. Not bad for free, eh? So get downloading and don't forget to check out our trophy list. We'll update this post once we get confirmation that the patch is out in the US.

Over at PlayStation.Blog, the game director of Warhawk, Dylan Jobe, lets us in on the details surrounding the important v1.5 update which will bring trophies. Last week, we already provided you with a list of trophies and a release date of August 27th for Europe -- it now appears the date will apply to the US as well. Other updates will include:
Custom in-game music confirmed once again.
Training tutorials -- 4 offline tutorials for "newbies" to the game, focusing "on the core principals of each of the 3 modes of gameplay: Infantry, Ground Vehicles and Aircraft." The fourth tutorial, Flight Practice, will have players destroying as many attack drones as possible in 3 minutes. Completing these tutorials will result in a trophy.
Clan leaders will now have the ability to retract a clan invite.
20 new paint schemes and 50 new insignias.
Participants of the GGL tournament will receive a in-game GGL-Ceremonial Knife. The winners of the tournament will receive a Champion's Blade.
Green servers will be designated for rookies only.
Jobe hints at a jetpack for the next Booster Pack with a promise of more information to come at Leipzig.

Well the patch seems to work well, nice to see this £20 psn title being suported so well nearly a year after release! tomorow also sees some new DLC icluding numerous things including jet packs and a raft of new maps. This will be the 3rd majour DLC for warhawk and one of numerous patches which added new features rather than fixing problems. If you've never had the privalige of playing warhawk it's basicly a halo type game based fully online, lots of vehicles, lots of guns, lots of huge maps, with no lag or coms issues trophy suport and clan options this is still going strong nearly 12 months on.
