Re: X Box Live, an Idiots Guide.
Basicly if you want to play online with people on the 360 you will need a gold membership, the 360 has a dedicated server system and to use it for online play you need to "subscribe" to it, ie buy a gold membership. At this point I wont mention the PSfree.....nope, nada, not a word
Re: X Box Live, an Idiots Guide.
If you search around you will find 12 months gold for around £25, with the PS3 online play is free but they are only just starting to catch up with the service offered by microsoft, they are getting there slowing and it has improved greatly but microsoft still has the better online service at the moment. The biggest problem the PS3 has is that it doesn't make the game developers make the games with online support as with the 360 all games have to be xbox live compatiable.

to be honest Gold is a must have , and you can always turn the xbox on and talk without even gaming so it saves on phone calls too

Re: X Box Live, an Idiots Guide.
I remember in the murky past the coms were so good on the PS3 we used to use the 360 to chat whilst playing on the PS3 LOL
True fact is the 360 live system is better than the PS3 one.....but.......the PS3 system has been steadily catching the 360 system over the past 12 months to the point were it may well exceed it with the release of some unnamable software. You'll see about 1 big firmware update a month on the PS3 adding more and more features.......but it's all good, I can PM people in game now and give me the promised voice chat to friends in game I'll be happy.

Re: X Box Live, an Idiots Guide.
Just a quick question,
My broadband goes into the bedroom for my pc, i use Virgin. So i obviously have a single router.
In order to have the xbox online downstairs ill need some sort of wireless router. but i was wondering if the 360 came with a wireless router built in?????

Re: X Box Live, an Idiots Guide.
what a noob ok am not 100% on techno stuff so will try my best to explain , i think u have a modem not a router , thats the 1st part , now the best option for you is to have a router , call virgin and tell them what you want to do ( they sent me a free router ) then you will need a 360 wireless adaptor ( around £50 ) then just plug the wireless adaptor into the usb on the back of your 360 and it will search for your router and connect that way , hope that clears it up a bit for you matey

I guess i know what ill be doing tomorrow night lol.
Anyone got any of them cable ties. LOL

will work perfectly my friend , the wireless adaptor is a con to be honest for what it is and the PS3 has it built in , would still phone virgin and get a router for nothing though , mine came in about 5 days
