Hey the globes a big place LOL when I first fired it up I was a bit miffed because it was about 300 yards out on my position.......then I thought, do I want it to show people "adsactly" where I live? nope LOL so now it's just roughly right, though a few odd ones do crop up, your in a lake, Joker was in skemersdale not wigan, another member was in stoke not manchester and manse was in the wrong newcastle..........I'll see if it can be "tuned" a little, it's never going to be spot on as it's going off IP address rather than your true address.

Well if thats the case it will probably work of the local exchange i would imagine.

For those of us with dynamic IP's it should change daily.

mines in skem for a reason, it was very acurate, but i found a website were you could offer up a 'correction'.. so i 'corrected it'. slarty was that 300 yards the telephone exchange near yours? thats where it will be.

LOL the exchange for my area is actually at the end of my road of which im 2 doors down from hehe.

It *should* map the the exchange, thats how it supposed to work. it will never map to your exact home address because that would be illegal without your permission, and also insane.

let me clarify that, most of these probably do link the the exchange, but are not accurately placed right over the exchange, but infact near by, probably because the co-ordinates have been generalised. Infact I can tell you for a fact they have because I have one of the databases, i used one for my dissertation project. the co-ordinates where quite short (thus less accurate). the system is not design to say what part of town you tin, jsut what country, so people like the bbc can use it to only give ads to americans, and only let british people watch iplayer. (for example).

Ofcourse I could just use a proxy and then suddenly turn up in iceland and screw with you all.

taking a look at the source code im not sure how the hells thats broke, its probably not you fault. as long as you didn't add any characters like " or > or / then its probably not your fault, probably the software. there's a book they wrote on phpbb been published (even has my name in the credits apparently). might be worth a read if you can find a copy. or just pay me in tea and biscuits and i'll learn phpbb3 and help you out. lol
